Marmot
Marmot was born in 1974 by a group of mountain-loving misfits, a community passionate about camping, climbing, and creating the world’s most reliable outdoor gear.
We worked with Marmot to help communicate their brand promise and voice. In a category where competitors focus on saving the plant or achieving superhuman feats in ferocious weather, we focused on getting to the heart of why we all go outside. We go outside to camp or climb or hike or ski or paddle or bike because it's fun. We do what we do because there's nothing better than being with friends outside in beautiful weather in beautiful places. Pairing their performance heritage with a focus on fun and play in the outdoors. To embrace a community and advocate for outdoor access for all. To start, we created a manifesto.

Hey, everybody.
Yeah, everybody. As in: if you’ve got a body, you’re an everybody, and if you’re an everybody, we’re talking to you. Doesn’t matter is you don’t know the way. Someone else will show you. Doesn’t matter if you’ve never done it. Because today‘s a killer day to try. Doesn’t matter if it’s cold. Because we’ve got extra gear. Doesn’t matter if you’re bombing backcountry or a total jerry, nobody’s here to judge.
We’ve got room for everyone and then some. Friends, family, foes — all manner of misfits fit in fine out here. It’s like the song says: This land is your land and this land is my land — no matter where you’re from, what you look like, or who you love. Outside four walls, there aren’t any boundaries to separate us or hold us back. So if you’re down, let’s get out. Because out’s where it’s at.
We also created a brand line to sum things up.
